It is hard to believe that we are already into April! I am excited for the year ahead, just wish the time would slow down a smidge. I am gearing up to explore some new art techniques, new inks, and new markets this year. I will be sharing those with you as they come about.
The past few weeks I have been busy testing out paper clay for a summer workshop involving a canvas build up. It has been a lot of fun and can hardly wait to share it with the kids this summer. Right now I am working on a test piece and will be applying color to it soon. I am also working on a project marrying citrasolve collage and acrylic painting. I will be sharing the progress of these soon. I also am excited to test out the Chameleon ink refills to see how they compare to Ranger’s, and Copic’s alcohol ink lines. I remember when I was just starting to paint with these inks and there were only 2 brands to work with. Now artists have at least 7 brands to choose from!
I am excited to share that I have been selected to show my art at my first gallery showing! It will be at the Ankeny Art Center in Ankeny Iowa and will run during October and November this year. I have a lot of work to do! Check in over the next couple of weeks to see how my creations are coming along!
